Apple Trees
Growth of the tree is slowing down now and most of your fruit trees will be laden with fruit. However, young weaker branches may need support with the weight of fruit. Now is the time to complete the thinning of fruit when natural drop has finished.
Still be aware of the threat from codling moth attack.

Relaxing in the Garden
Investing in good quality furniture is a must for any garden. After a hard day's work in the garden, mowing the grass, watering the plants, dead heading your blooms, harvesting the vegetables and hoeing inbetween the rows to keep on top of the weeds, what better way to unwind than to relax and have a drink and eat the fruits of your labour. This woven style of furniture has become the new trend and there are many different styles to choose from. Our Nags Hall centre holds a large range of woven, metal and wooden suites and a range of Lafuma relaxers and sunloungers.

Harvest Herbs
At this time of year a good supply of herbs is always available but during the winter the choice is vastly reduced. Now is the perfect time to harvest stems and leaves to store for use over the winter. In order to conserve as much flavour as possible it is important that they are dried or frozen as quickly as possible after picking. They can be dried quickly by microwaving and crumbling into a container or you can put them in an ice cube container with water and freeze.
We recommend: Oregano Origanum vulgari
